Happy Taurus season! For a moment, can we acknowledge how Taurus season is the perfect season for being stuck at home?!
I mean, Taurus absolutely loves to be in the home, snuggled up with the comfiest blankets, ordering their favorite pizza from DoorDash, and binging Netflix. Oh, and if Taurus is going to leave the house, it better only be for one of two things: apocalypse-level shopping or finding their favorite tree to relax under.
Why is this the case? (Over our time together, you’ll start to learn that I love to ask “why” and I find that especially important with astrology. We all love the memes. We do! They’re fun! They hit home more often than we’d care to admit. However, it’s hard to know the “why” behind zodiac humor and that’s actually the most important part. So if you want to know the “why” to the perplexities of astrology, I’ll be right here to show you the way.)
Well, Taurus is a Fixed Earth sign who is ruled by Venus. Earth signs (Capricorn, Virgo, and Taurus) work in the physical plane, and Taurus is the most physical of them all since it is fixed.
Earth signs enjoy nature more than most other signs and it’s largely due to the fact that they are more attuned to what they can touch, see, hear, and smell.
If you don’t intellectually know what “fixed” means, you probably intuitively know what it means.
If a sign is “fixed” then that sign is a great upholder, pretty stubborn, a strong manager, concerned about security, and usually plays the long game.
Now, when you pair Earth with Fixed you get a sign that is extremely concerned with security and safety, does not like change in the slightest, will feel the safest with physical comforts, and plays the longest game of all long games.
When a sign is “ruled” by a planet, that means that planet is happiest and at its most optimal performance when it is located in that sign.
Venus is the planet of beauty, harmony, money, and values.
When we combine the Venus energy to Earth and Fixed energies, you get a sign that can see the beauty in nature, that has strong values, that will only feel truly secure if it’s financially supported, and is highly sensory.
In effect, you get…Taurus!
To really get into the Taurus spirit, I want you to consider the following questions:
Essentially, what you want to do is get really clear on what you value, strengthen your self-worth, check in with your long-term goals, find the beauty in nature, and get comfortable in your journey.
On May 7th, we will have a Scorpio Full Moon at 3:45 AM PST (adjust for your time zone). This will happen at 17 degrees of Scorpio.
If you are familiar with your birth chart, take a look at it and see if you have any planets between 15 and 19 degrees of Scorpio or Taurus. If you do, this Full Moon may impact you more than others. (You can look up your birth chart on Co-Star here.)
If you aren’t familiar with your birth chart (or don’t feel like looking it up), no frets! You don’t need to get specific if it feels too overwhelming or just isn’t of interest to you. You can still work with any Moon phase without relating it to your own chart.
Full Moons are a great time to acknowledge your achievements and then release anything that isn’t helping you along your path. You may even find that goals start to culminate near Full Moons.
Here’s a list of things to do or consider under this Full Moon in Scorpio:
On May 20th, we will transition into Gemini Season. This season is a bit more social and will ask you to explore every single one of your interests (hellooo multi-passionate creatives!).
I’m not going to get too deep into Gemini as a sign in this post but I do want to direct your attention to the Gemini New Moon that will occur on May 22nd at 10:38 AM PST at 2 degrees of Gemini.
Again, if you want to check out your chart, go for it! You’re looking for planets between 0 and 4 degrees of Gemini to know if this New Moon will impact you on a deeper level.
To work with this New Moon, you’ll want to set some goals in the way of communication, friendships, and studies.
Gemini loves to communicate and tell stories so if you’re looking for a good reason to start that blog or podcast, the Gemini New Moon could be a great time for you to put those goals in place!
I know that the world we live in during COVID-19 doesn’t lend itself to in-person connections but think outside of the box on how you can connect with your friends and family.
Lastly, you may find that you have an itch to explore some of your interests that you’ve never given yourself the permission to study before. Gemini season and the Gemini New Moon offer a GREAT time to let your mind go wild on gathering information.
Gemini is the quintessential Multi-Passionate sign! Gemini has so many interests, knows at least the basics of just about everything, and finds it difficult to nail one thing down.
And let me just say, Gemini season is not a time to narrow in. It is a time to explore!
The most creative days I found are happening at the beginning of the month. This is largely due to the fact that on May 12th, Venus will start moving backward (retrograde) so it doesn’t really help us out for creation mode. In fact, the astrological love notes I’ve written for you are to help you navigate through that backward Venus motion.
The main thing I want you to take away from Venus moving backward is to not make any drastic beauty changes. If you’re like me and considering cutting your hair yourself, maybe do it before May 12th.
May 1st is a creative day during this month. The Moon will be in Leo, which, fun fact if you didn’t know, Leo is one of the most creative signs in the zodiac! It’s true! Leo is very expressive and needs creative outlets for self-expression.
While the Moon is in Leo, she will make a lovely connection to Venus in Gemini.
To take advantage of this energy, you might venture out in creatively expressing your feelings, most likely through story.
May 5th is another creative day – The Moon will be in Libra and will make a very harmonious connection to Venus in Gemini.
This is another day where you might find yourself expressing your feelings or at least your inner thoughts. This would be a really good day to get creative about how you might host a social distancing dinner party or show off the latest home project you’ve completed.
All in All
The month of May is a dynamic mix of getting comfortable with being home and in your body, as well as exploring new ways to connect with others and explore new interests. We owe it to ourselves to find and honor our self-worth and give ourselves the self-love that we truly deserve.
